Annette Detmers Meyer

Annette is a self taught acrylic artist who has been painting landscapes & wildlife  for over 50 years.  She received her first set of oils when she was only 11 and a year later won first place in a national competition sponsored by Pioneer Girls.
Annette put her artwork on the back burner while raising a family, and pursuing a nursing career, but was successful in the few competitions she entered.  The most exciting honor was being selected to exhibit at the State Capital in the "Life in Rural Minnesota" show in 1985.  In addition to fine art acrylics, pen and ink drawings and beadwork Annette has:
Compiled & published "The History of Laporte"
Painting Instructor for Adults and Children
Does commission work for sawblades and aerial homesteads.
Annette retired from Hospice Nursing in 2021 and enjoys painting, gardening, beading and watching Minnesota sunsets.
